![]() ![]() ![]() *I received a free ARC of this audiobook and this is my honest opinion.* She did a beautiful job narrating this book. I listened to the audiobook and Nichole James has such a pleasant, easy voice to listen to. The settings are beautiful, the plot keeps you entertained, and the characters get better as the stories develop. I would highly recommend this book/series to anyone who enjoys YA fantasy, clean fantasy, romantic fantasy, and/or fairytale fantasy. I wasn't expecting that, so it was a good twist, especially if you're a big fan of fairytales. The other thing I really liked was how the author wove in snippets from at least two other well-known fairytales into this Sleeping Beauty retelling. It was fun to read a non-insta-love fairytale. They faced real struggles and had hard issues to overcome, all set in a fairytale setting, before potentially getting an HEA. I adore a good slow-burn romance and it was fun to see the characters have a romance that developed slowly and had meaning to it. ![]() I loved how it picked up the tale of Sleeping Beauty after the kiss, and I loved how the two main characters didn't immediately fall in love. Two things I really liked about this story. ![]()
